Volunteer
Volunteers are needed for setting up the event, directing traffic, directing people inside the festival, handing out glasses, delivering ice, and more. Volunteer duties will be assigned at the festival at the Volunteer Registration Table upon check in. All volunteers must be 21+.
All volunteers receive a festival t-shirt plus other benefits depending on shift for their help.
There are four shifts available for volunteers:
Friday Shift runs from 11:00am to 3:00pm on Friday and volunteers will be admitted to the festival on Saturday. Working this shift requires the volunteer to do some heavy lifting and unloading of delivery trucks. It is recommended for strong volunteers.
Saturday Shifts:
Shift #1 runs from 10:00am to 2:00pm; volunteers of this shift will be admitted to the festival after their shift is over and receive a food voucher.
Shift #2 rruns from 12:00pm to 4:00pm; volunteers of this shift will be admitted to the festival after their shift is over and receive a food voucher.
Shift #3 runs from 2:00pm to 6:00pm; volunteers of this shift will receive a pair of tickets to a future Starfish Junction event.
Photographers:
Sometimes the best pictures and stories are caught by our volunteers and attendees at the festival. Therefore, we need some volunteer photographers to help us capture great festival moments. If you sign up to be a “volunteer photographer,” we ask that you arrive and stay throughout the day to photograph the event. We’re looking for photographers with a different view that will capture our attendees, volunteers, exhibitors, programs, products, etc. Volunteer photographers must utilize a DSLR camera or similar to produce hi-res, editable photos. Further, we ask photographs are sent to us via Dropbox or a similar service (a DVD/CD/flash drive is also acceptable) within a week of the event taking place. Volunteer photographers will be given a pair of tickets to a future Starfish Junction event and will be able to access the event while taking photos.
Street Team:
Our biggest need is organizing volunteers who are able to distribute promotional cards and posters about the festival to market it in new neighborhoods. If you sign up as a “Street Team” volunteer we will send you materials to distribute around your community – cafes, churches, libraries, restaurants, stores, etc. (anywhere where people will see them). There is no time requirement and distribution activities can be completed whenever and wherever is convenient to the “Street Team” volunteer. However, “Street Team” volunteers will earn tickets to the event for their efforts based on the number of locations materials are distributed at.
If you are interested in volunteering, please complete the form below. An event coordinator will confirm your shift and follow up with you as the event date draws near.
